A lackluster, must-win game that the Dawgs lost. At this point, most of the problems are pretty evident and have been since the week 2 loss to South Carolina. In my mind the biggest, inexcusable issues are Bobo's playcalling and the O-Line's performance. I thought the first series had some glimmers of hope in terms of innovative playcalling, then it dropped off and Bobo reverted back to his usual ways. How many times should the Running Backs rush up the middle to no avail? According to Bobo, as often as possible. How often should plays be called that target our very good Tight Ends? According to Bobo, as rarely as often. Orson Charles has 5 receptions for 57 yards-I am not an O-Coordinator, but I think Orson's number should be targeted more often. His unimaginative, conservative playcalls are ineffective and I think he should be gone next year. Searels should probably leave with Bobo. Once again an "experienced" O-Line is playing like a disjointed group of freshman. My answer is can Searels, and I won't waste any time explaining it.
A FEW SIDE NOTES:
Don't let Ealey carry/catch the ball inside the opponents 40 yard line. Also regarding Ealey, last week I noticed that he does a lot of dancing when he should be hitting the holes and running straight-too many unnecessary cuts and jukes-he is not Knowshon, he should stop trying to run like him. Blair Walsh is the only thing automatic on the team. Murray should turn out to be a pretty good QB although last week he held onto the ball too long, and this week he rushed his throws, maybe next week he'll find the middle ground. And the Defense is naturally still working things out; in a few weeks when the Dawgs will be looking for win number 2 or 3 the D should come around.
SOMETHING NOT UGA RELATED:
I want to establish that not only is this a UGA blog, but also a "hate on other conferences" blog. As such, I would like to comment on the Big Ten's dominant weekend. While Alabama is playing Arkansas, Auburn is playing South Carolina, Kentucky is playing Florida, etc., Several Big Ten teams were battling it out with top-notch high school football programs. Congrats to Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Iowa who managed to pull out wins against Bowling Green, Northern Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Austin Peay, and Ball State. Fourth week of the season and these are the matchups! I can't wait until Nebraska comes in next year and dominates. That's all for now.
